Friends Meeting House Kendal is a popular venue for room hire throughout the year, daytime and evenings. We have spaces of varying sizes for events, training, workshops, meetings, interviews, therapy sessions, rehearsals etc. Hired by the hour, half/full day or evening on a one off or regular basis to suit you. We offer special rates for therapists/counsellors using our smallest room for 121 sessions and 10% discount on full price room hires for registered charities. Friends Meeting House is conveniently situated in Kendal town centre with easy access to car parks, bus and railway stations.

Session Times

  • Half Day – up to 4 hours (between 9am – 1pm or 1pm – 5pm)
  • Full Day – over 4 hours (between 9am – 5pm)
  • Evening – up to 4 hours (between 5.30pm – 9.30pm)

Access outside of these session times can be arranged using our hourly rates.

Please note we are unable to provide a set up/take down service for your room, please ensure that the timings of your booking includes time to set up/take down.

We welcome bookings seven days a week.

Access to the first floor rooms is via a tall flight of stone stairs, there is no lift. Toilets, including an accessible toilet and baby change facilities, are situated on the step-free ground floor. Our Access Statement is available by request.

Equipment

All our rooms have free WiFi and are well equipped with tables and chairs which can be moved around or packed away to suit your event. Please book the following in advance of your event:

  • Large TV (included in room hire cost)
  • Lectern (included in room hire cost)
  • Flip chart, paper and pens (included in room hire cost)
  • Data projector £30
  • Camera for hybrid meetings £30

Refreshments

We can provide self serve refreshments in your room, including a selection of Fair Trade teas, coffees and biscuits. Please pre book:

  • £4 per person for half day or evening hire
  • £6 per person for full day hire

NB. Non-dairy milk alternatives can be provided, please let us know when making your booking.
